Rhys Chatham - The Bern Project

CD hint 08 (January 2010)
4-panel chipboard sleeve

• Scrying in Smoke [11 mb]
• My Lady of the Loire [4.3 mb]

An album of new Rhys Chatham tracks with band - something you haven't heard since the "Die Donnergötter" recordings of the 80s... Chatham on trumpet and electric guitar, three young swiss musicians on bass guitar, drums and trombone, plus a lot of studio trickery. More punk, noise and drones than you would expect from a new Rhys Chatham record.

Rashomon - The Finishing Line (Film Music Volume 2)

CD hint 07 (January 2010)
Arigato Pak

• The Second Race [7.5 mb]

Second full-lenght album from Rashomon (aka Guapo founding member Matt Thompson). Inspired by public information broadcast "The Finishing Line" (1977), the record is a sonic re-imagining of the film as haunted meditation on the power of memory, drawing the listener into a claustrophobic sense of unease and mounting horror. An amalgam of library music, 1970s prog soundtrack, musique concrète and spectral jazz.

Kinit Her - Glyms or Beame of Radicall Truthes

CD hint 06 (January 2009)
4-panel chipboard sleeve

• Quadriga [3.8 mb]
• Hierophant Pentadrome [3.4 mb]

A wide array of sources from the Purple Analects of Taoism up to modern day conspiracy theories. The record is informed by the 80's british underground experimental scene, 90's Scandinavian black metal, and the timelessness of all folk currents.

Strotter Inst. – Minenhund

CD hint 05 (January 2009)
4-panel chipboard sleeve

• #7 [2.2 mb]
• #13 [5.8 mb]

Music created through the use of old Lenco turntables, modified and manipulated in countless ways. But it has more in common with the anti-electronica of Pan Sonic or the early minimalism of Steve Reich, than to other experimental turntablists.
